INSPIRATION

I am having a baby boy in July.  I was not feeling inspired to decorate his room since it was my third until......I got this awesome baby gift.

A homemade baby quilt. The machine quilting is phenomenal and took HOURS!!

This awesome gift is made by Jenaiah Michael.  Check out the embroidered tag on the back.

My first step to redo the room.  I added a channel of fabric on the back to insert a dowel. Pop tabs on the corners were added to hang the quilt on the wall.  The dowel keeps the top of the quilt straight. NO WAY AM I LETTING THE BABY SPIT UP ON THIS!!!

My husband was excited to see me get inspired, so he volunteered to paint my wall for me.  Color chosen to match the quilt. The rest to be continued....

NO MORE PIANO PLAYER

I just bought a cheap piano, and unfortunately it had a player piano in it.  The piano tuner would not touch it with a ten foot pole.  Do you blame him?  Look at all those parts in front of the piano strings.  I asked if he would tune it if the player part was removed.  YES. Sooo......

It took me a few hours....

Sewing Serendipity

Here is my sewing serendipitous moment.  My shirt was missing three buttons in a row. The top and bottom were still on the shirt. I had only one button that matched.  Instead of replacing all five, I selected the white and brown ones from my stash, and sewed on the three buttons. VIOLA!! The shirt looks better than before.

EYE LOVE LASHES

 Ok so fake lashes never stay on my eyes with the glue that comes on them.  There is no way those lashes would stay on my daughters eyes either.  So use REAL GLUE to make them last so your kid will be a perfect "WHO" from "WHOVILLLE."

I use this glue.  Clear of course. You can buy it at any Taylor Maid store.  Here is the final WHO product.  Ornaments tied to her shoes, silly socks, and shirt under a red dress.  I put elastic in the existing hem to make it puffy gathered.  Fun 'Who" hair and here you are. She was the talk of the class due to the lashes.

Super Hero Blanket

A baby gift for boys my little girl loves to model.

I put the last name initial on the back.  

The blanket cape fits on with a shoulder harness. Mask is included.

Blanket top. The brown grosgrain harness ribbon is hidden inside the top edge of the blanket. We don't want the baby to get wrapped up in it while sleeping.

We welcome you to Las Vegas!! Come see the show I am working on at the Aria hotel.  It ROCKS!!  I have been slammed at work; and, so no usual DIY post.  I wish I could show you pics of what I do at work, but it's not allowed.  Lets just say that I build, sew, paint, glue, bondo, cast molds, and use lots of tools.  If you come to see the show look for the organ in the house and try to find Elvis' head on it. (I specifically made that part, but a huge team helped to make the organs what they are now :)  If you see his head let me know where he is and I'll ship you a prize :)
