TIE TO BOW TIE

One of my husbands favorite ties.  It is fraying along the bottom edge.

A store bought bow tie, set at the length of his neck. I laid this on top of the old tie and cut around the edges 1/4" wider.

I sewed the seams and left a hole to turn it.  Hand sew the hole up.

TAH DAH!!!

Don't use a tie with a stain or hole in the center.  There won't be enough fabric.

TANK TOP TO SKIRT
My daughter's best friend gave her this tank top. The strap broke, and in the picture below the shirring is coming out.

We can't just throw away a best friend item.

We made it into a skirt. I cut off the straps. Inserted waistband elastic, and cut the shirring elastic.

My daughter loves her new "bestie" skirt.

Candy Bouquet

You have probably seen one in the grocery stores;  BUT, I got a cool one as a gift that was personalized.
Meesha Slade made me a candy message bouquet for the birth of my baby.  Unfortunately I ate it without taking a picture.  Here is one I made for my husband for work.

The best part, all items can be purchased at your local $1.00 store. Plant foam, container, candy chopsticks... HAVE FUN!

TIME FOR A NEW MAILBOX POST

You know you are in trouble when your mailbox falls on the carrier.

The old mailbox.

The ugly light post next to the mailbox.

Painted the bottom of the ugly light post.

Cut boards for my new design and sanded.

Painted this with exterior paint, 4 coats.

Predrilled holes in wood to prevent splitting.

We cemented the post in. I added house numbers and painted the box to match the house. It shouldn't fall on the mailman again, at least not for a long while.
