 DOG TAGS
My kids love long tags on their stuffed animals. This bear hung in my first daughter's baby
crib; and, she has now had it for 6 years.

Our new baby can't use the bears, they're taken . So I bought dogs, but the tags were pathetic.

Take some double sided silky ribbon, thread, and needle, and we have new tags. I also burned the ribbon edge to keep it from fraying.

I added velcro dots to the back of the head to hang them in the crib.

New dogs for the new baby, with new tags.

HOMEMADE BLOCK LETTERS

Step 3 for bedroom makeover.  Go onto your word program and pick a font you like.  Print one letter per page to make it big.

Next put your printed letters over some cardboard and cut.  I wanted textered letters.

Carefully peel off the top layer to the expose the ridged edge.

Next I painted the letters, color matching the quilt and brown in the dresser.

Letters are drying.

I hung the letters with sewing pins, since the heads are really small.

I think his room came together quite nicely thanks to my awesome quilt.

P.S. in case you haven't figured it out by now...we put our babies in the closet.  It's not a large bedroom.  I like the fact there are no windows, and it's the quietest room in the house :)

BED AND DRESER REDO

TODDLER BED AND DRESSER REDO

Second step for my boy's bedroom was to redo my girls' bedroom set.

Originally this toddler bed was black, then I repainted it for my girls.

This dresser was originally brown and not a set to the toddler bed, but after painting it they looked like a set.

So all I did was paint over the purple spots with blue.....matching my inspiration quilt and making it more "boyish." Toddler bed is not shown, since well it will be awhile before he
 needs it.

INSPIRATION
I am having a baby boy in July.  I was not feeling inspired to decorate his room since it was my third until......I got this awesome baby gift.

A homemade baby quilt. The machine quilting is phenomenal and took HOURS!!

This awesome gift is made by Jenaiah Michael.  Check out the embroidered tag on the back.

My first step to redo the room.  I added a channel of fabric on the back to insert a dowel. Pop tabs on the corners were added to hang the quilt on the wall.  The dowel keeps the top of the quilt straight. NO WAY AM I LETTING THE BABY SPIT UP ON THIS!!!

My husband was excited to see me get inspired, so he volunteered to paint my wall for me.  Color chosen to match the quilt. The rest to be continued....
